For the biotin labeled peptides, we often conjugate biotin to the free -NH2 at N-terminal or side chain of Lys. The reaction is between the free -COOH of biotin and free -NH2 of peptide. There is no guanidine salts or DMSO introduced in the process of synthesis or modification of peptide.
