Oligonucleotides labeled with fluorescent dyes, such as 6-FAM, HEX, TET, ROX, and TAMRA, should be resuspended in a slightly basic solution (e.g., TE at pH 8.0). Cy3, Cy3.5, Cy5, and Cy5.5 labeled oligonucleotides should be resuspended at pH 7.0. Cy3, Cy3.5, Cy5, and Cy5.5 begin to degrade at pH >7.0. If the pH is below 7, it has been shown that the oligo can begin to degrade and may be unusable within a few weeks.
